Writing from the app

Open Settings (the gear icon at the top of the Trips, For you and Practical tabs) and choose Contact us. It opens your own email app with a message to us that includes your app version and language, so we can help you faster. Nothing is sent until you press send, and you can edit or delete any of it first.

No account

Vegvisir has no account and no sign-in, so there is nothing to log in to and no password to reset. Your trips, saved places and settings are stored on your phone. We hold no copy of them, so we cannot recover them if they are deleted. The Privacy Policy describes what leaves your phone and why.

Restoring purchases

If you reinstall Vegvisir or move to a new iPhone or iPad with the same Apple ID, open Settings and choose Restore purchases under Vegvisir Pro. Pro comes back through your Apple ID, and your unused paid questions for Ask a local move with it.

What Vegvisir Pro includes

The guidebook is free: every place, the map, the driving times, the routes and all the practical information. Without a purchase you can also plan trips of up to three days and ask 5 questions in Ask a local.

Vegvisir Pro is a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. It gives you:

• Plan it for me: the app spreads the places you picked across the days of your trip, with driving times
• Saving trips, as many as you like, each with a day-by-day overview and a route map
• Trips of four days or more
• Downloading a trip with its photographs, so they show without a connection
• The Midnight sun colour theme
• 300 questions for Ask a local, except in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao (see below)

The price is shown in the App Store before you buy.

Refunds

Purchases are made through Apple, and Apple handles refunds. Use reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds through the App Store.

Ask a local

Ask a local is an AI, not a person, and it needs an internet connection.

• Every phone gets 5 free questions in total. They are not renewed, and reinstalling the app does not reset them.
• Vegvisir Pro includes 300 questions.
• With Pro you can buy More questions, which adds 150 questions, as many times as you like. You find it in Settings under Vegvisir Pro, and Ask a local offers it when your questions run out.
• Questions do not expire.
• If Ask a local fails and no answer is produced, the question is given back.

Ask a local and the question top-up are not offered to App Store accounts in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macao. In those regions, Vegvisir Pro is sold without the questions.

Without a connection

The guidebook works offline: all the places, the driving times, the routes, the practical guides, the emergency numbers, and the pins and routes on the map. Photographs are downloaded the first time a place is shown and cached on your phone after that. The Apple Maps base map needs a connection, or what your phone has already cached.

Ask a local and purchases need a connection. With Pro, you can download a trip so its photographs show without a signal.
